What Hyundai's Connected Garage Costs After the 90-Day Trial

Hyundai’s myQ Connected Garage costs $45 for one year, $129 for three years, or $179 for four years after a 90-day trial that needs no credit card. Those are the prices on the myQ Hyundai pricing page as listed in September 2026. That works out to $43 to $45 a year, against $0 a year in subscription fees for a HomeLink button or the opener remote you already own.

The three-year plan is the cheapest per year. The one-year plan is the safer first purchase if you aren’t sure the touchscreen control will earn its keep, because it caps the outlay at $45. Whichever you choose, the myQ Marketplace order screen is the final offer: confirm the term, the renewal price and the service dates there before you pay.

The per-year figures are arithmetic on the listed prices: $129 divided by three is $43, and $179 divided by four is $44.75. The three-year plan saves $2 a year against buying one year at a time and $1.75 a year against the four-year plan.

The same arithmetic turns up a quirk. A three-year plan followed by a one-year plan totals $174 at listed prices, $5 less than the four-year plan. That only holds if the one-year price is still $45 when you come back for it, and no renewal price is published. What the four-year plan gives you is a price that is already paid for the whole term.

Per-year cost is not the only consideration. A multiyear purchase commits more money upfront. The one-year plan limits your exposure if you replace the vehicle, change the opener, or find that touchscreen control is not useful enough to keep.

Selling the car is the specific risk. The published information does not establish that a subscription can be transferred to another owner when a vehicle is sold, so a prepaid term that outlasts your ownership may simply be lost.

The Trial Needs No Card, and Paid Plans Auto-Renew

Eligible users get a 90-day trial without providing a credit card. Because no payment card is on file, the published setup instructions do not support assuming that the trial converts into a paid subscription on its own.

Paid plans are a different matter. Hyundai says paid plans automatically renew unless cancelled. Its Connected Garage owner guide directs owners to scan the QR code on the infotainment screen, link the myQ account through the MyHyundai app, and activate the trial from the app’s Subscriptions area. The same area is where Hyundai sends owners to view and manage subscription status.

Before authorizing a charge, read the order screen for:

• The exact plan duration and the dates paid access begins and ends
• Whether the selected plan renews, at what interval and at what price
• The method required to cancel
• Any refund or early-cancellation conditions

Bluelink and Garage Hardware Can Add to the Bill

The myQ plan is one of three possible costs. The other two are any Bluelink expense specific to your ownership status and any hardware the garage needs.

An active Bluelink service is required, but that does not mean every owner pays extra for it. Hyundai says Bluelink+ is available at no additional cost to the original owner of an eligible vehicle, while some vehicles use a paid version of Bluelink. Eligibility depends on the model, trim, model year and ownership status. Bluelink+ does not include or eliminate the separate myQ charge; Hyundai’s Bluelink+ pricing and eligibility page does not identify Connected Garage as an included service.

On the garage side, start with what is bolted to the ceiling. The system needs a compatible connected opener or an appropriate myQ controller. The joint Hyundai and Chamberlain announcement identifies LiftMaster, Chamberlain and Craftsman openers as compatible, and says some openers from other brands may work after adding a Smart Garage Control.

myQ advertises a $0.99 Smart Garage Control for eligible new users who link their accounts through the vehicle workflow. That is a limited promotion available while supplies last, not an established regular hardware price. The myQ offer details also make garage compatibility a required check during setup.

The available pricing information does not disclose a regular controller price, and it does not establish whether taxes or transaction fees apply. A reliable all-in total has to wait until you have checked your Bluelink eligibility, your existing opener, your hardware needs and the final checkout screen.

Hyundai and myQ Publish Different Model Lists, So Check the Car Itself

Do not assume every Hyundai from the 2024–2026 model years qualifies. Hyundai and myQ publish different model-year ranges and model lists, and compatibility can depend on the exact infotainment configuration rather than the model name alone. A July 2026 Repairer Driven News report described the initial rollout as covering select 2024–2026 models and identified the service as cloud-based.

Work through these before choosing a paid term:

• Verify the VIN, model, model year, trim and installed equipment.
• Confirm that the vehicle has a compatible ccNC head unit.
• Check that the required Bluelink service is active.
• Create or verify the Hyundai and myQ accounts, and sign in to both the MyHyundai with Bluelink app and the myQ app.
• Run the exact garage-door opener through myQ’s compatibility tool, and determine whether the garage needs a Smart Garage Control.
• Confirm that LTE coverage and the required location services are available where you will use the feature.

The definitive test is the Connected Garage menu in the vehicle or the MyHyundai subscription workflow. If the feature is there, activation runs like this:

1. Park safely near the garage and open Connected Garage on the infotainment screen.
2. Scan the displayed QR code.
3. Sign in through the MyHyundai app and link the myQ account.
4. Activate the eligible trial from the Subscriptions area.

myQ describes the service as available in the United States. Continued operation depends on the Hyundai–myQ account link, myQ system availability, a compatible garage setup, LTE coverage and any location services required for location-based functions.

What the Fee Buys Over a HomeLink Button

After the trial, a paid plan keeps myQ monitoring and control on a compatible Hyundai touchscreen. Depending on the vehicle and the garage setup, that can include:

• Opening and closing a connected door from the touchscreen
• Checking whether the door is open or closed
• Close-door reminders
• Location-based opening or closing
• Managing multiple connected garage doors
• Restricting garage controls while the vehicle is in Valet Mode

All of these are cloud-connected convenience features. None of them is needed to open the door.

myQ is optional and does not replace physical HomeLink controls where a Hyundai is equipped with them. Hyundai described myQ as an additional owner-elective feature in a clarification reported by Autoblog. If you never look at door status from the driver’s seat, the button, the visor remote or a keypad you already own does the job with no plan at all.
